Plac Dominikański Apartment
Plac Dominikański, Kraków
Set within a historic townhouse on Plac Dominikański — once home to Helena Modrzejewska and connected to Ignacy Łukasiewicz — this apartment brings together Kraków’s layered history and a distinctly contemporary sense of comfort. The renovation began almost from scratch. Behind the walls, floors and original structure, we uncovered a building that required both careful restoration and substantial structural work, including the reinforcement of its historic wooden ceilings. Rather than erase the traces of time, we chose to work with them. Original character was preserved wherever possible, with restored windows and floors complemented by natural materials, tactile textiles and warm, atmospheric light. The result is quiet rather than showy: a space shaped by its history, but designed for the present. A private sauna adds a modern layer of retreat to an interior where old and new meet naturally. Here, luxury is not about excess. It is about character, craftsmanship and an address with a story to tell.
